Avanza Wedding Workshop – Behind the Scenes in Paris

Paris is already one of the most photogenic places on the planet… add a wedding workshop into the mix and you’ve basically got a full day of visual opportunities.

My role at this event wasn’t to shoot the main setups — it was to capture everything behind the scenes.
The real moments.
The process.
The parts of the day people don’t always see.

And honestly, it’s one of my favourite things to shoot.

Capturing the Real Side of a Creative Day

Workshops are unique because they’re equal parts:

  • learning

  • experimenting

  • trying new ideas

  • figuring things out on the fly

  • collaborating with models

  • making the most of the environment

My focus was on documenting that side of the day:

  • photographers working with the models

  • how the setups were built

  • the little moments between shots

  • direction, movement, adjustments

  • the genuine atmosphere of being on the streets of Paris with a creative group

You get far more authenticity shooting BTS than you ever do from the perfect final frame — and that’s exactly what I leaned into.

A Mix of Locations Across Paris

The workshop moved between several spots across the city, each with its own look and feel:

  • side streets with natural, soft light

  • classic Parisian backdrops

  • hotel interiors and styled rooms

  • outdoor setups with texture and movement

  • intimate corners that made the day feel cinematic

Every location had its own mood, and I tried to capture how the team interacted with each space — not just the finished shot, but the journey of how they got there.

Why BTS Matters

Behind-the-scenes imagery gives people a look at:

  • how much thought goes into each shot

  • the collaboration between photographers, models, and stylists

  • the real energy of the day

  • all the details that often get missed

It’s storytelling in its purest form — documenting creativity as it happens.

The Avanza team created something genuinely inspiring, and it was great to capture the day in a way that feels honest, unposed and real.

A Brilliant Creative Day

Everyone involved brought something different — and that’s what made the workshop feel so alive.

From the setups to the locations to the people, the whole day had this effortless creative energy that was a joy to photograph.
