Professional modelling portfolios in Liverpool
Whether you're approaching agencies for the first time, updating an existing book or simply need stronger, more current images, a good modelling portfolio should show more than one version of you.
My portfolio shoots are built around creating a varied set of professional images that feel current, natural and genuinely useful — from clean agency-style shots and digitals through to stronger editorial images with more personality.
I’ll guide you throughout the shoot, so you don’t need to arrive knowing exactly how to pose or what to do in front of the camera.
Building a portfolio that works
Before the shoot, we'll talk through where you are now, what you're looking to achieve and the type of work or agencies you're aiming towards.
From there, we'll plan a small number of looks that give your portfolio variety without trying to cram too much into one session.
During the shoot I'll direct posing, movement and expression, while keeping an eye on the overall mix of images we're creating.
Depending on the session, this can include:
Clean headshots and portraits
Full-length images
Natural agency-style digitals
Fashion and editorial looks
Different outfits and styling
Studio or location photography
The aim isn't simply to give you a folder full of photographs. It's to create a concise set of images that show your range and give you something genuinely useful when approaching agencies, castings and clients.
Never modelled before?
That's completely fine.
A large number of people I photograph are building their first portfolio and haven't had professional direction before.
I'll guide you through the whole shoot — where to stand, what to do with your hands, expressions, movement and the small changes that make a photograph work.
You don't need to turn up knowing how to model. That's part of my job.
FAQS
Have questions about getting your professional modelling portfolio? Find answers to common queries below. My goal is to make the process clear and straightforward, ensuring you receive Impactful Photography that goes Beyond the Ordinary.
-
The standard studio and location sessions are approximately one hour. That's normally enough time to create several distinct looks without rushing through them.
If you're looking for a larger portfolio update or something more editorial and concept-led, we can also discuss a longer shoot.
-
Before the shoot I'll give you guidance based on the type of portfolio we're creating.
As a starting point, it's usually better to bring a few strong, simple outfits than lots of complicated looks. Clean basics are particularly important if you're approaching agencies, alongside one or two outfits that show more personality.
-
No.
I'll direct you throughout the shoot, including posing, movement and expression. First-time models are absolutely welcome.
-
Hair and makeup isn't included as standard, but I can recommend professional HMUAs if you'd like one involved.
For clean agency digitals, agencies will often want to see you looking natural, so heavy styling isn't always necessary.
-
If you're building your first portfolio or approaching agencies, I'd usually recommend the studio session.
It allows us to create controlled portfolio images as well as a clean set of agency-style digitals.
Location shoots work particularly well if you already have those basics and want to introduce more lifestyle or editorial imagery into your portfolio.
-
Both standard sessions include 8 fully retouched high-resolution images.
The studio session also includes a clean set of natural digital images for agency submissions.
Additional retouched images can be purchased for £20 each.
-
After the shoot you'll receive a private online proof gallery from which you can choose the images you'd like professionally retouched.
I'm also happy to advise on your selection so that you end up with a strong mix rather than eight very similar photographs.
-
Your proof gallery is normally available within 3–5 working days.
Once you've made your final selections, retouched photographs are normally delivered within 1–2 weeks.
-
Yes. You're welcome to bring one person along to the shoot.
Anyone under 18 should attend with a parent or guardian.
